in
Owen Ray’s International Music
Secondary Rock
Band Competition
A new Section has been
added to the 2009 Toowoomba Eisteddfod.

bands made up of students at Secondary school level will be able to
compete for some outstanding prizes at the Empire Theatre on Sunday 19
July 2009.
With
generous backing from Owen Ray’s International Music, the Eisteddfod has
been able to secure two outstanding judges for the competition.
Don
Morrisson started the band ‘Xanadu’ when in his teens. In
Sydney
he made two successful records and had many TV appearances. After a
7-month tour of
Vietnam
, he spent the next 10 years touring with many industry greats, including
Leo Sayer and The Sex Pistols. He returned to
Australia
in 1981and as well as being a Product Manager for National Music
Australia
, he manages a hot new band ‘Andrew Mann & Mantra’.
Kerry
Jacobson was inducted into the Aria Hall of Fame in 2008 with his band
‘Dragon’. For many years Kerry toured and recorded with this band as
their drummer. When Dragon disbanded, he joined another successful group
‘Mondo Rock’. Kerry has toured and recorded with dozens of famous
